Warner Stone Zero Surface

– Care Guide

Enjoy the beauty of your stone surface for many years with simple, mindful care.

1. About Your Stone Surface

Warner Stone Zero Surfaces are made from premium minerals and resin, giving them strength, resilience, and flexibility:

  • Resistance to Impact – Breaks less easily than natural stone or porcelain, so edges are less likely to chip. However, avoid standing or placing heavy weight on the surface, especially on weaker areas such as pointed corners, sink edges, or spots without strong support underneath.
  • Tough & heat-resistant – Safe for everyday use, but avoid long periods of direct high heat.
  • Non-porous – Resists stains, but avoid leaving standing water or spills for long periods.
  • Hardness >5 Mohs – More durable than marble, but steel and other very hard objects can still scratch it.
Like a well-loved car, regular cleaning and mindful use keep it looking its best.

2. Everyday Do & Don’t

✅ DO
  • Use a cutting board for food preparation.
  • Wipe up spills immediately.
  • Clean with warm water and mild dish soap. Dry the surface after cleaning.
  • Use a trivet or heat pad under hot cookware.
  • Use a soft cloth or sponge.
  • Lift heavy items instead of sliding them.
❌ DON’T
  • Cut food directly on the surface.
  • Leave stains or water overnight.
  • Use strong bleach or harsh chemicals.
  • Put hot pans straight from the stove or oven on the surface.
  • Use steel wool or coarse scouring pads.
  • Drag heavy objects across the surface.

3. Special Surface Care

Some finishes (matte, leather, honed) need extra attention:

  • Marks, smudges, and scratches are more visible.
  • Clean more often and always dry after cleaning.
  • Avoid scrubbing with anything abrasive.
  • Black polished surfaces also need gentle care, as light reflection can make small rub marks or fine scratches easier to see.

4. Heat Protection

  • Always use a trivet or heat pad under slow cookers, hot pans, or oven trays.
  • Avoid placing cookware directly from the stove or oven onto the surface.

5. Stains & Spills

  • Wipe coffee, tea, wine, oil, and sauces immediately.
  • For dried food or gum, gently scrape with a plastic scraper (not metal).
  • If a mark remains, use a mild cleaner with a soft cloth, then rinse well with clean water.

6. Chemicals to Avoid

❌ Do not use:
  • Strong acids or industrial cleaners (e.g., drain cleaner, oven cleaner)
  • Harsh bleach or chlorine-based cleaners
  • Abrasive powders
  • Nail polish remover (acetone)
  • Adhesive removers or glue solvents
  • Exception: For removing stubborn oil-based paint, a very small amount of mineral spirits can be used with caution, followed by thorough rinsing.
  • Any strong chemicals with very high or very low pH
*** If these touch the surface by accident, rinse with plenty of clean water immediately. Store these chemicals away from the countertop to avoid accidents.

7. Sunlight Care

Strong UV light can speed up ageing, causing colour changes or slight warping. Use blinds, shades, or UV film in areas with intense sunlight.

8. Common Stains & How to Clean Them

Tip: Some stains are harder to remove than others — avoid contact whenever possible, and clean immediately if spills occur.

Stain Type

Examples

How to Clean

Food & Drinks

Coffee, tea, wine, juice, soy sauce, fruit

Wipe with warm water + mild dish soap

Oil & Grease

Cooking oil, butter, sauces

Use warm water + mild dish soap, or gentle all-purpose cleaner

Wax & Gum

Scrape gently with plastic scraper, clean with warm soapy water

⚠️ Hard-to-remove stains:

Stain Type

Examples

How to Clean

Ink & Pen Marks

Ballpoint pen, marker

Gently rub with rubbing alcohol on soft cloth, then rinse

Metal Marks & Rust

Pots, pans, metal cans

Use oxalic acid cleaner (e.g., Bar Keepers Friend) on soft cloth, rinse well

Nail Polish & Paint

Nail polish, household paint

Gently scrape with plastic scraper; for nail polish use rubbing alcohol; for oil-based paint use a small amount of mineral spirits with caution (avoid skin contact and keep away from heat/flames), then rinse well immediately.

Hair Dye

All colours, permanent or semi-permanent

Wipe immediately; for marks, use low concentration (3%) hydrogen peroxide on soft cloth, rinse well. High concentrations should only be used by trained professionals.

Note: For stronger cleaners, test first on a small hidden area to make sure it does not change the colour or shine.
Minor variations in colour, pattern, and gloss level are a natural characteristic of the product and do not affect its quality or performance.
